SS27 - Spring/Summer '27 'Drifter' Lookbook

Clothes made to be worn and reworn, shoved into the bottom of bags and bundled together as cushions. It’s a collection inspired by the continent of America, the highways that run from coast to coast and the states they pass through. Textures throughout replicate the soft, lived in feel of a vintage favourite. Jeans are prewashed and overdyed to feel like they’ve been worn a thousand times already, shirts come with a bobbled texture and jackets are soft and unstructured.

For Spring/Summer 2027, Carter Young takes inspiration from the open road and the places in between. A starting point was German-American photographer Uta Barth, whose work evokes the relationship between different objects and spaces. Born in the Midwest and now based in London, creative director Carter Altman recognised his own perspective in Barth’s work, looking particularly at the distance that exists between himself and America.
