FW26 - Fall/Winter '26 'Daybreak’ Lookbook

For Fall/Winter 2026, Carter Young looks back to creative director Carter Altman’s youth in the Midwest. The starting point for the season was a memory: the feeling of anticipation before an event, trying on different outfits to find the right one. Referencing this inspiration, the collection mixes formality with casual clothing, cashmere jackets and silk ties alongside sun-faded check shirts and soft, relaxed knitwear.

This season returns to the archetypes of American fashion, recreated with a particular focus on fabric, wash and handfeel. Other influences are drawn from the American cultural canon, and the films of Gus van Sant that Altman grew up watching.

There are two distinct strands of fabrication throughout. The first is worn-in cotton, sun-faded flannels and denim that feels broken-in, channeling the feeling of beloved classics and everyday favourites. The second strand is more luxurious, including virgin wool, cashmere and tuxedo satin.
